Accessibility Statement — Virtual Singing Lessons
Commitment
Virtual Singing Lessons is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to provide an inclusive learning experience for all students.
Standards and scope
We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA where reasonably practicable. We are working toward WCAG 2.2 AA and hope that this indicates our committent to keeping up with the latest guidelines.
This statement covers the website and digital lesson materials (video, audio, PDFs and downloadable files) delivered through the site.
We aim to comply with applicable European accessibility requirements, including the European Accessibility Act where relevant.
What we’ve implemented
– The website is built using Elementor with semantic page structure to support keyboard navigation and screen readers.
– Alt text and descriptive image descriptions are added site wide to convey meaningful visual content.
– Clear, consistent page layouts and headings to improve navigation for assistive technologies.
– Sufficient colour contrast for text and interactive elements where possible.
– Transcripts and captions provided for lesson videos and audio where available; downloadable lesson documents are formatted for accessibility (tagged PDFs or accessible DOCX).
– Logical focus order and visible focus indicators for keyboard users.
– Descriptive link text and ARIA attributes added to dynamic elements when necessary.
– Forms include labels and error messaging that are programmatically associated with inputs.
Known limitations
– Some third‑party content (embedded players, widgets, or external linked pages) may not meet WCAG 2.1 AA in all respects.
– Older uploaded documents may lack full tagging or semantic structure.
– This includes our WooCommerce checkout process, where we are actively optimising form fields and navigation for better keyboard accessibility.
– Automated captions may contain occasional inaccuracies; we prioritise human‑reviewed captions for core lesson materials when feasible.
Ongoing improvements
We review accessibility as part of site updates, prioritise fixes for reported issues and aim to:
– Improve and human‑review captions and transcripts for all new videos.
– Audit and remediate legacy documents and pages for better semantic structure.
– Test interactive elements across assistive technologies and browsers.
Compatibility
The site works with current versions of major screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) and modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). For best results, keep your browser and assistive tools up to date.
Feedback and contact
If you encounter accessibility barriers or need materials in an alternative format (e.g., larger text, simplified layout, audio description, accessible PDF), please contact us and we will make reasonable efforts to provide the content: info@virtualsinginglessons.com. Include the page or lesson name, the issue and your preferred format; we aim to respond within 5 business days.
Enforcement procedure
Where we are unable to meet a request immediately, we will aim to propose an alternative accessible format or workaround and provide an estimated timeline for remediation.
Technical specifications
This accessibility statement was prepared with reference to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and site audits performed in Elementor. Where a specific standard or guideline is referenced above, it reflects our design and development approach rather than a formal certification.
